New Hobby Japanese Figure Scans New images of the new Square-Enix Action Figures have appeared, most of which are from the Advent Children cast. G4 Square-Enix Coverage: Dirge of Cerberus Clips Shown G4 Video Game TV has posted their video coverage of the Square-Enix booth at E3. While there is no new information shown, it does include clips from the trailers, including the Dirge of Cerberus one. During the clip, you find that the Deep Ground Solider (DGS) was created by the late President, and kept hidden in the corporation shadows. They also mention the words Chaos, Omega, and the weapon born of tainted life. Jump Magazine: New Dirge of Cerberus Scans The new Jump Magazine has been released in Japan, with updates on Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, and Final Fantasy XII. While the surpise information from Advent Children WAS the release date, it still contains new scans, including the one of Cloud holding Kadaj. FFVII:AC Figures shown at Shizuoka Hobby Show The new AC action figures were also shown during this years Shizuoka Hobby Show (Shizuoka, Japan). Hobby Link Japan managed to snap a few pictures of the new figures which are scheduled for an August release. More Information on the American Release of Before Crisis On an update on Gamewatch, in an interview with a Square Representative, the question of when and how Before Crisis was coming to the United States came into play. While there ARE definate plans of bringing it to US shores, right now the problem stands on what platform it should be on, and if it's possible, to still keep it as a cellphone game. Dirge of Cerberus Pre E-3 Report Gamespot has posted their Pre-E3 report on the new shooter RPG "Dirge of Cerberus". While only releasing the minor information regarding the Plot, (mainly regarding the origins of Deep Ground, though no informtion on how Vincent is involved) Square representatives have said that Dirge of Cerberus will have "shocking truths never revealed in the original game." As a bit of a sidenote, on the press release, a tag line has been added: The time has come to cleanse this world. Hunt down the unworthy...and show them no mercy. Also, six new screens have been added, including a close-up of Vincents face, as well as one showing two of the presumed Deep Ground Soldiers. Screens From FFVII Tech Demo High resolution screens from the FFVII techincal demo can be found on Square-Enix's Japanese official site. Click on the images to enlarge. The demo was created using a next generation advanced processor known as "Cell". Also, both Gamespot and IGN have given their impressions on the demo, with IGN explicitly stating that there will not be a remake of FFVII for the PS3. AC Version of One Winged Angel at More Friends A new version of One Winged Angel was performed at tonight's More Friends concert in LA. The version was performed by both the orchestra and rock band, The Black Mages. It featured new lyrics which were different to those in the FFVII version. European Release of Advent Children Eurogamer has word from Square-Enix that the DVD and UMD formats of Advent Children will be available to the European public "by the end of 2005", adding that they are "doing [their] best to get it out this year". Also, according to Eurogamer's inside sources, there has been no offical word on a UMD launch date as Sony Pictures and Sony Computer Entertainment are still discussing how to handle release dates for the two formats. The two are said to be deciding between a simultaneous launch for the formats or giving one format priority over the other. Before Crisis - Chapter 12 Screenshots Square Enix have released screenshots from the 12th chapter of Before Crisis, out on 13th May. Making an appearence this time is Tifa, Cloud, Zacks and Sephiroth. Advent Children Release Date Announced Nomura has announced on the ShinRa website that the release date for Advent Children is set for September 14th, with a price tag of 4,800 yen. There will be a simultaneous release of a limited edition version, though the pricing has not been announced. He revealed that all rendering is complete, and only the film's audio component is left. The audio is expected to be finished at the end of May, with synching starting in June, and the final preparations and editing starting in July. Promotions and production will start in August.
