A helicopter flies in and Rufus is seen on a stretcher being carried away. Yuffie: Hurry, hurry! People who are injured are important [in this situation]. Yuffie faces one of the life rescuing crew members. Yuffie: Report the situation! Life rescuing crew: Excavation is finished. All the injured are returned to safety. Yuffie waves her arms in the air to the helicopters that are awaiting orders. Yuffie: Okay, now go! Thunder strikes. Yuffie: Until the helicopters have reached the safe area, keep yourself alert. [Lit. trans: Don't stop holding your breath.] Yuffie patted on the shoulder of the Life saving crew. Yuffie took off her goggles and she speaks to the radio transmitter. Yuffie: It's done here, what about yours? Scene switches to the Mako Cannon with thunder striking, then Vincent appeared in front of the camera. Vincent: Finished. But…Yuffie, look towards the direction of the Mako Cannon. Yuffie looks at the life sensor's screen and reports to Vincent at the same time. Yuffie: That place is already…especially… She held it up towards the Mako Cannon and zoom towards the platform: the sensor caught something. Yuffie: H..Huh? Life Signs 01 is displayed on the screen. Vincent: After all… Yuffie: Wa…wait. This looks strange… This is not expected to happen. Under this situation it is not expected to have people over there! He looks toward the set of computer system and saw a man with white lab coat lying face down with his back towards him in front of the computer. Vincent's face toughened up and he pulled out his Cerberus and aim it at Hojo. All of a sudden thunder strikes where the two are and explosion ensued. Fences around Vincent got blown away and things are collapsing. Vincent held onto the railing and looked up. Hojo was gone. Vincent: Hnn? Another big explosion ensues and a huge debris is about to fall onto Vincent. Yuffie: VINCEEEEEENT----! Yuffie come on a mini air scooter to Vincent's rescue. Vincent jumped onto the scooter, and Yuffie feels like puking again. Yuffie: Urgh… Camera switches to the computer panel. It displayed: "Balestorg" and the system starts to format itself. Screen goes black and the words, "3 years later" came onto the screen. Scene goes from black to what appears to be water surround environment. Dirge of Cerberus –Final Fantasy VII- title pops up Scene fades black and when it brightens, we're at Lucrecia's cave. Camera did a close up on Vincent opening his right eye and pulled back for us to see that he's sitting in front of her frozen form. Vincent looked up and the camera pans to Lucrecia, who is now held within the crystals. Vincent: Again…I've met you again. Lucrecia… The crystal and Lucrecia seems to have some resonance towards Vincent's words. Scene fades black with Lucrecia saying: I am sorry… Scene switches to Vincent in Kalm, the camera zooms into Vincent's left eye this time. Vincent: Why? The one who should apologize…is me. Camera pans away from Vincent as he speaks and moves toward his cellphone where Reeve sent him a text message asking him to meet each other in Kalm. TV's voice sudden came in. TV (Male): Up until now, the whereabouts of them are unknown. TV (Female): The program's staff, those who brought back the information from Midgar has already been 3 weeks. [Meaning: It has yet been 3 weeks since the last information was received from those people.] TV(Male): Exactly what has happened to them? This..this..week… TV got a bit of interruption and it switched to the report from 3 weeks ago. The screen reads: A television crew and 38 members of an investigation team are believed missing. Source: Remains of the Shinra building. Footage from somewhere in the underground. Missing reporter: We are now closing in onto something. The door is slowly being opened! Swarm of rescuers head into the door as the reporter kept on talking in the background. Missing reporter: From the information we have received, it appears that there is a lot of people held within these compounds. This type of incident…. Camera goes back to Vincent as the voice started to fade out. Missing reporter: Huh, what could that be? Camera zooms into the moon that Vincent was gazing at. Then fireworks can be seen in the sky. Kalm is having its revival festival. Everyone in Kalm is seen enjoying themselves. Camera once again goes back to Vincent for the nth time. Suddenly it seems as though he noticed something and turned his face towards the window side. A bomb from above hit one of the house in town. Random towns person: What..is that? Then a lot of DG helicopters appeared on the screen and they started dispatching soldiers. Camera zooms into the scope of one of the DG soldiers and as the scope reads these people, two colors appeared Red and Green. Then the soldiers started shooting. More carriers arrived and DG hounds were out running mowing down their preys. Vincent stands on the ledge of the window looking at everything that is happening. Then a helicopter appeared out of nowhere in front of Vincent and it is about to shoot Vincent in the face. Vincent has jump out of his room, he does a back flip and starts shooting the helicopter. He did another one of those backflips and continued to shoot the helicopter. Vincent landed gracefully while the helicopter exploded in the background. DG Soldier: Huh. What is that? A little girl with moggle looked up towards the commotion that Vincent had just caused and walked into the carrier box. Camera goes back to Vincent, he turned around to face the camera, he moves his cape out of the way and stands. He watches the civilians of Kalm running away in terror. The camera closed up on him and he frowned. Switches to Gameplay. Vincent is looking from above. Vincent: What…is this? Then DG soldiers crept up behind him. The sensor on one of the DG soldiers read: Vincent Valentine, Male, Blood Type A. [Note: Vincent's color is purple in contrast to Red – the Geostigma infected personnel or Green – Geostigma free personnel.] Scene cuts to somewhere in DG and Shelke appears. Shelke: Found it. Camera zooms out of Shelke and there are many different monitors displaying Vincent in the background. Scene goes back to Vincent with his back to the DG soldiers and there is a new order given to them. Wanted: Dead or Alive. More gameplay with Vincent after defeating more DG soldiers on the way. Vincent: The place where I should meet up with Reeve is…the center of the city. Vincent saved a child on his way. Child: Thank… thank you. Vincent saved a couple on his way. Male: Those…those people are? Vincent: …If you are talking about this area, they are not here anymore. Male: We…we're saved! Let's go. Female: Un. [Okay.] As Vincent turnes right to a corner, he sees that the helicopter is taking away one of the carriers. After a killing a few more DG soldiers, Vincent sees a daughter and a mother being pursued by DG hounds. Mother: This way!!! DG hounds were literally right behind them. The daughter and the mother went into a corner and they were surrounded. The sensor on one of the DG hounds read: Daughter Green – Clean; Mother Red – Geostigma detected. The mother tries to protect her child and one of the DG hounds leaped onto her as the other carried the daughter away and put her into the carrier. Daughter: Mamaaa, mamaaaaa. Mother: moans Vincent saved the girl from the carrier, he walks away as he moves his cape out of the way. Daughter: Mama---! Mother: ?! Rio---! Vincent yet again saved another civilian. Vincent: Looks like it's okay now. Girl: Thank…thank you, big brother. Vincent moves his cape out of the way as he walks away from the scene. Vincent saved 3 more civilians. Male: Sa..saved. Female: Thank you very much. Vincent finally reached the center of Kalm and a helicopter flew above him. Vincent shoots the helicopter with his excellent marksmanship, and the helicopter releases some DG soldiers. Vincent is about to deliver the finishing blow until he sees that the helicopter is in fact, sending a few missles after him. With a few missles aiming at him, he dodges into a nearby house. Scene cuts to Shelke taking off the device. Shelke: Vincent Valentine… Found him…after all. Azul: So it's this person huh? Shelke: Yes. Scene goes back to Vincent in the house. He runs up stairs and suddenly one of the walls collapses with Shelke and Azul and a bunch of DGs running into the room. Shelke: Where is it? The Ancient Materia. Azul: Seiger, Vice… [Note: Thanks to Lómion, he pointed out that Seiger in German is a verb/noun that means "pointer", someone who others would look for guidance and leadership. A more understandable English translation would probably mean something like: "Hail Vice!" As well, this word may become a noun from time to time, so it may also be part of Vice's full name.] DG soldiers: Seiger, Vice!! DG soldiers started coming in swarms and Vincent took them on. Azul: That's enough. Then all of a sudden Shelke collapsed. Azul glanced at her, uncaringly. Then voices of WRO soldiers can be heard. Azul: Heh, my fun is spoiled. Azul picks up Shelke and proceed to walk away before leaving his name. Shelke: Deepest apologies… Azul: My name is Azul. We shall meet again. Reeve and WRO members are in the room now. Reeve: What…what is this? Vincent Valentine! Are you alright? Vincent: Aaa. [Yes] Reeve, though finally meeting you after a long time, you appear to be in a very common form. [Note: This is a joke from Vincent where he is saying of all the time during FF7 and AC, Reeve didn't appear in real person, but right now, he actually did appear in a "normal" form rather than Cait Sith.] Reeve: Hahaha, before I came here, I was having trouble deciding which stuffed animal I should be. Anyway, what happened before I got here? Vincent: Who knows, there was a man who took the name of Azul, but… Reeve: !? Azul the Cerulean? One of the personnels of Tswett? After all, this is… [Note: Thanks to Suzaku, the correct spelling is Zvet, and it means color in Russian. However, I am going to stick with Tswett, the Japanese official romanized name.] WRO member: Chief! Scene cuts the ground floor of the house with some DG soldiers coming in. Reeve: Let's leave all the talk afterwards. The WRO units have started working their way already. We would like you to cooperate with us. [Meaning: We would like your help.] Vincent: Reeve… Reeve: ? Vincent: I don't know what is about to happen, but if it draws you into too much trouble, I am sorry. Reeve: What? Aren't we companions who fought together three years ago? DG soldiers start to march out of the helicopter towards Vincent. They shoot him with machine guns, and Vincent stands there and try to parry it with his clawed hand. WRO trucks came sliding into the center square and the WRO members are filing out of the trucks, and that includes Reeve. He ran behind the truck and nods to Vincent, Vincent nods back, both Reeve and Vincent go and attack the remaining DG soldiers. After they've secured Kalm, Vincent sits on a cargo box waiting for information from Reeve, while Reeve is exchanging information with the WRO soldiers. When they finished, WRO member salutes to Reeve and Reeve salutes back. Reeve turns toward Vincent who is sitting on the box behind him. Reeve: Thank you for your hard work. [Note: There is no literal translation for Otsukaresama desita in English, but that's the closest English translation I can think of.] Anyway, speaking of which, those people [DG soldiers] seems to have retreated from Kalm. Vincent: Is that so. Reeve: But please tag along with us for awhile more. Edge is also being under attack. Then Vincent thinks to himself while the scene cuts back to the destroyed helicopter.
