Q: What is Dirge of Cerberus?
A: Dirge of Cerberus is the third announced title in the Compilation, starring
Vincent Valentine. While it was first speculated that the game was going to be a
Third Person Shooter, the game has been classified as an "RPG Shooter", combining
both RPG and third person shooters and RPGs. It wil be available on the PS2.
Q: When will it be released?
A: So far, all sources point to a PlayStation 2 release sometime in 2005,
though no official date has been confirmed.
Q: When does it take place?
A: One year after Advent Children, or three years after the original Final
Fantasy VII.
Q: What does "Dirge of Cerberus" mean?
A: Nomura has confirmed that the gun that Vincent wields is indeed called
Cerberus. This is probably due to the the fact that the gun itself has three barrels,
symbolizing the Three Headed Dog that guards the entrance to Hades. Of special notice,
an image has been released of Vincent standing a top a three headed being's skeleton.
Also, because of the Dirge of Cerberus merchandise, we finally have a clear shot
of the medallion hanging from Vincent's gun. It also shares a connection with Cerberus,
seeing as it's in the shape of a three headed dog with demonic wings.
Dirge, is another name for a funeral hymn. Kind of like a Requiem. We assume that
they are talking about the sound that Vincent's gun makes when fired, since it's
been stated that "The Dirge of Cerberus will sound..."
Q: Where can I buy the Dirge of Cerberus merchandise that I see on the site?
A: The only place that we know of where you can purchase these from are through
Square-Enix's Japanese
website. However, the bad news is that you must have a Japanese shipping address
in order to buy from their online store.
You may like to try your luck on eBay or an online store which deals in Japanese
imported merchandise.
Q: I'm still unsure about my enquiry, how can I find out more?
A: If you wish, you may contact us through our contact form
and we will try to answer your question as best we can. You can also ask your question
in the Dirge of
Cerberus section of the forums.
